BENTON, Ill. (Jan. 30, 2020)
海角视频 Adult Education students can find assistance taking the GED this spring thanks to the Benton Food Pantry.
The food pantry has provided a free classroom for GED students in the community, but the assistance doesn芒鈧劉t stop there.
芒鈧揟he food pantry has donors who will help students pay for the $30 fee that is required to take each of the four tests,芒鈧 said GED instructor Susan Clayton. 芒鈧揗ost of my students do not have the funds to take the GED test and this makes it possible for them to do so.芒鈧
The pantry also provides snacks and clothing to students who are in need.
芒鈧揑 have several students who walk to class every day. If we see them coming in without warm clothing, the ladies will do their best to supply the students with what they need,芒鈧 Clayton said.
And if a student doesn芒鈧劉t have a ride to Mt. Vernon to take the tests, pantry volunteers will donate their own resources to make sure the Benton students get to and from the exam.
芒鈧揟he ladies will volunteer their time and gas to get them there, wait while they test, and bring them back to Benton,芒鈧 Clayton said.
