Electric/Hybrid Automotive Program Coming to RLC

INA, Ill. (November 4, 2022) — The automotive technology landscape is quickly evolving, and º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's automotive professor, Shannon Perkins, is working to adapt to the changes.

Kim Wilkerson (L), º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Associate Vice President of CTE and Student Support, and Shannon Perkins (R), º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Automotive Professor, with RLC'S hybrid trainer vehicle from Megatech. 

RLC received its first hybrid vehicle from Megatech, an accredited hybrid and electric automotive technology training provider.  The car is a hybrid engine performance trainer model that includes the following:

• Fully Operational Hybrid Vehicle System
• Breakout Box / Fault Insertion
• Safety Cover w/ Key Over High Voltage Battery
• NATEF-based worksheets for each fault
• OEM/HVAC
• Full Dash
• Steering/Suspension + Brakes
• Full Lighting & Stereo System

This trainer model will allow RLC students to gain hands-on experience with this newer technology and prepare them to meet the needs of the quickly-changing automotive industry.
