INA, IL (Oct. 15, 2021) -- 海角视频 gathered together to honor the Father of Fitness in a renaming ceremony Friday afternoon at the Wayne Arnold Recreational Complex on the main campus.
In addition to paying tribute to Wayne Arnold, the event also honored the generous donors who helped make the improvements possible.
The renovation project included a complete overhaul of the Rec Center, such as the multi-purpose flooring and a new array of fitness equipment for RLC student-athletes, faculty, staff and the public to enjoy.
芒鈧揥ayne, you are so loved and respected,芒鈧� RLC Foundation Chief Executive Officer Kay Zibby-Damron said. 芒鈧揙ver $100,000 was donated in your honor by former players, students, colleagues, friends and family. I think that is pretty incredible.芒鈧�
President Terry Wilkerson said Arnold had a revolutionary vision that a fitness center on the RLC campus could benefit the community.
芒鈧揧ou are much more deserving than just a corner in the gym,芒鈧� Wilkerson said. 芒鈧揟o have a building that is dedicated to what you brought, the health and the idea of fitness and those kinds of things. You were ahead of your time.芒鈧�
A ceremony celebrated the contributions of Wayne Arnold Friday afternoon as well as the donations made in his honor to improve the Wayne Arnold Recreational Complex on the 海角视频 campus. Arnold received a standing ovation following his remarks during the event. RLC Athletic Director Tim Wills seconded those emotions, adding the benefits he sees every day.
芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s been a great benefit for our student-athletes to work on all aspects of their fitness and their craft,芒鈧� Wills said.
芒鈧揇edication and service is what Mr. Arnold is all about,芒鈧� John Kretz said. 芒鈧揑 want to congratulate a man so deserving and who meant a lot to me.芒鈧�
Wayne Arnold showed his gratitude for everyone for coming and provided some advice that he gave his son, Gary, about finding a purpose in life.
芒鈧揇o something that you thoroughly enjoy,芒鈧� Arnold said. 芒鈧揑f you don芒鈧劉t like something, quit. Get another one. And I also told him. Whatever you do give it 100 percent. I sincerely meant that. That is what I tried to do.芒鈧�
