INA, Ill. (Dec. 6, 2016) - Alec Long, Mt. Vernon, has been named the recipient of the Hot Rod Nights Automotive Scholarship. Long, who is currently employed at Oأ¢â‚¬â„¢Reilly Auto Parts in Mt. Vernon, has a passion for vehicles. He is currently studying at ؛£½اتسئµ in the Automotive Tech Program and plans to transfer to the University of Northern Ohio to continue his education in Automotive Technology. He hopes to open his own performance shop after graduating.
Alec Long
In his personal life, Long races Micro Sprints with the POWRi Series. He homes to make the jump to 410 Sprint Cars soon. He said working on his own equipment is what inspired his career aspirations. Alec said that his grandparents are currently shouldering all of his tuition, so the generous scholarship from Hot Rod Nights will go a long way to helping this industrious young man and his family.

Hot Rod Nights raised the funds for the scholarship via their 50/50 drawings throughout the season.
