The pathway to an engineering degree starts at RLC

December 16, 2019

Looking for a degree in engineering? º£½ÇÊÓƵ has you covered thanks to a recent agreement with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

In August, RLC and SIUE entered into a partnership called the Pathway Engineering Transfer Program
a 2+2 Transfer Program initiative
that streamlines the process for engineering students to obtain an Associate degree and transfer to a baccalaureate program. Students who obtain an Associate degree in Engineering Science from RLC then have the option to transfer to Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at SIUE.

Eligibility and academic standing:

RLC students looking to transfer to engineering at SIUE need to submit and application for admission as soon as they have identified an interest in the program. At RLC, students must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0. While students may be accepted into the Pathway Engineering Transfer Program, they will be prevented from matriculating to SIUE until completion of RLC curricula. Upon receipt of official transcripts, SIUE will record all transfer credit from RLC to the student’s record. At SIUE, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to remain in good academic standing. Students are obligated to follow the SIUE catalog for admission requirements and if they fail to do so within the timeline established by SIUE, they may be subject to new or revised requirements. Students who complete the requirements will be admitted into their intended major at SIUE following the formal admission process.

Course requirements:

Students must complete 50% or more of the SIUE degree requirements at SIUE. A minimum of 120 hours are required for graduation to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in any of the available engineering courses.

For more information:

For more information on each program’s curriculum, see the attached partnership agreement or visit Interested students can contact RLC’s Academic Advisement office at (618) 437-5321, Ext. 1266 or email advising@rlc.edu or contact the SIUE Office of the Registrar Transfer Center at (618) 650-2133 or transfercredit@siue.edu.
